Undergraduate Project Experience
Wayne State University
Jan 2025 – May 2025
Performed quantum chemical calculations using Gaussian and GaussView on a university high-performance computing (HPC) cluster. Studied dimers of polyethylene glycol (PEG) in various solvents modeled as implicit polarizable continuum systems using the IEF-PCM solvation model. All computations were conducted at the B3LYP/6-311+G(d,p) level of theory. Molecular geometries and intermolecular interactions were visualized and analyzed using VMD.

Researched and presented a poster project on the development of a 79% biobased, biodegradable hybrid biopolymer designed to replace traditional acrylics in detergent applications. Focused on combining polysaccharide backbones with synthetic monomers to achieve high anti-redeposition performance while aligning with EPA Safer Choice standards. Addressed formulation challenges such as discoloration through chelation and bleaching techniques, resulting in a stable, colorless product. Demonstrated improved dissolution rates and evaluated future scalability through fluid bed spray granulation.
Personal Project

Built a custom Discord bot using Python to manage a basic in-server economy system. Implemented features such as virtual currency, earning/spending mechanics, and command handling. Created and managed local databases to store economy data. Utilized the Discord.py library and Visual Studio Code for development. Focused on modular code structure, error handling, and user-friendly interactions.
